Seit der Zerst\u00f6rung des <a title=\"World Trade Center\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/World_Trade_Center\">World Trade Center<\/a> bei den <a title=\"Terroranschl\u00e4ge am 11. September 2001\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Terroranschl%C3%A4ge_am_11._September_2001\">Anschl\u00e4gen des 11.\u00a0September\u00a02001<\/a> war es bis zur Fertigstellung des Nachfolgebaus <a title=\"One World Trade Center\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/One_World_Trade_Center\">One World Trade Center<\/a> 2013 wieder das h\u00f6chste Bauwerk der Stadt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Das Empire State Building befindet sich am s\u00fcdlichen Rand des New Yorker Stadtteils <a title=\"Midtown Manhattan\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Midtown_Manhattan\">Midtown Manhattan<\/a> an der <a title=\"Fifth Avenue\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fifth_Avenue\">Fifth Avenue<\/a>, zwischen der 33. und 34. Stra\u00dfe. Dies ist etwa in der Mitte der Insel <a title=\"Manhattan\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Manhattan\">Manhattan<\/a>, die von <a title=\"Hudson River\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hudson_River\">Hudson River<\/a> und <a title=\"East River (New York)\" href=\"http:\/\/de.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/East_River_%28New_York%29\">East River<\/a> umgeben wird.
